Xiaomi had previously stated their intentions to enter more markets for this year. The Chinese company even aims to double their sales from last year. And it looks like they have started to move as the very popular Hongmi smartphone is set to reach foreign waters and has been rebranded as the Redmi. The device will soon be available in Singapore and we’re quite sure that the device will soon reach other markets as well especially the west. Otherwise giving the device an English name when you won’t sell it in the west would not make sense right?
The Xiaomi Redmi features a 4.7-inch IPS 720p display, powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot, and an 8MP/1.3MP camera combo. And like all Xiaomi devices, the Redmi runs on MIUI v5. The device will also carry an affordable $130 price tag.
