Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 Root Bounty Reaches $4,000

If you are an experienced Android user, you won’t probably be able to live or enjoy your new Samsung Galaxy S5 without having to root it. With root rights, users can do tons of things and further customizations like removing bloatwares, freezing apps, patching apps, and of course, install third-party ROMs, modifications, and themes.

But to our friends who lives in the United States, who uses a different model from the standard international version of the device, it has been some sort of a tradition and struggle to obtain a root method that they usually posts bounty for a developer who can make a hack for their variants. We’ve seen this since the Galaxy S3 days, and till now with the Galaxy S5, there’s still no known method to root the Verizon and AT&T variants of the device. And now the bounty for the root method has reached $4,000 for the Verizon Galaxy S5, while the developer who can successfully root an AT&T Galaxy S5 can get $190 for it. And the Galaxy S5 has just been launched just weeks back. This only proves that while some consumers complain about the device’s new design and lack of upgrades, the majority of consumers understands that it’s the best specs and features that one can get at this point in time without having side-effects like high battery drainage due to a higher screen resolution, etc.

If you’re on Verizon or AT&T and wants to make a pledge for a root method for your Galaxy S5, just head over to the xda-developers bounty thread to see what’s going on and to follow it’s progress.
