According to unconfirmed information Google’s next Nexus tablet will be built in cooperation with HTC! In case you don’t remember, all Nexus tablets so far had been built by Asus – who’s surely qualified to do it. According to DigiTimes however, HTC will be responsible for the making of the next Nexus tablet eqquipped with an 8 inch display. Unfortunately the Taiwanese company doesn’t have a lot of success so far in this area since its latest tablets: HTC Flyer and HTC JetStream were huge flops.

According to latest rumours, Google plans to stop producing Nexus devices during the next couple of years. According to the well know Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin, this will happen around 2015. According to the Russian blogger, Google will focus on releasing “Play Edition” smartphones like the HTC One and Samsung’s Galaxy S4 smartphones we know during the past couple of months, along with LG G Pad 8.3, Sony Xperia Z Ultra and Motorola Moto G that all are available with stock Android from Google’s Play Store.

Google has just released the first KitKat 4.4 update. The bugfix build has the code KRT16S (the initial KitKat build had the code KRT16O) and will be tagged as android-4.4_r1.2.
According to Conley Owens (Google’s software engineer), the KRT16S update, contains bug fixes for the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 devices.
