Samsung Issues Statement Regarding Incompatibility Of Third-Party Accessories On Galaxy Note 3 KitKat

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has made a lot of users happy as they were not made to wait long before getting the latest Android version for their devices, but what seems to be a treat turned into a displeasing inconvenience to some as many users has reported that the latest update made their third-party accessories incompatible with the said device.

And quick to issue an official statement regarding the issue is Samsung via AllAboutSamsung saying that even though they want their consumers to use genuine Samsung accessories for a ‘pleasant and smooth user experience,’ they haven’t made any changes on KitKat that made third-party accessories for the Galaxy Note 3 incompatible.

Here’s Samsung’s (translated) official statement:

“To ensure a pleasant and smooth user experience with Samsung products for our customers, we recommend that only original accessories from Samsung to use. Of course, customers can continue to rely on third-party accessories. The full functionality of our devices and accessories, however, can only be ensured with genuine Samsung components, since only in this way it is ensured that equipment and accessories are perfectly matched. A correlation between the Android version 4.4 and the supposed incompatibility of third-party accessories does not exist.”

It is also important to note that this is the first KitKat roll-out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and this issue will likely be solved for the next proceeding firmware updates. We’ll keep you updated.
