The Samsung Galaxy S5 for AT&T is finally official. And since the Galaxy S5 is already waterproof and dustproof, it’s only natural to expect it’s Active variant to sport more hardware resistance and protection. Having said that, the Galaxy S5 Active may be the world’s first shock-resistant premium smartphone to date.
Heading over at the specs department, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active sports pretty much the same specs as the S5: Runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, features a 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display (1920 x 1080), a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 16MP/2MP camera combo, 16GB of expandable storage, and a 2,800mAh battery.
As expected, the biggest difference between the S5 and the S5 Active can be found on the design. The Galaxy S5 Active looks pretty rugged but manages to stay slim and stylish at the same time (good job Samsung), and it sports a set of physical key buttons as well like we’ve seen with the S4 Active.
