Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) Now Receiving Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update

Omega Note 10.1

At long last, Samsung’s pioneer Note tablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) is now receiving it’s much deserved Android 4.4 KitKat treatment. The Galaxy Note 10.1 was first released in August of 2011 running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box which has been updated to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, but hasn’t gotten any worthwhile update from Samsung’s aside from the usual stability update since then.

The update is currently rolling out to Germany with the firmware version of XXUDNE4, which will bring you all the KitKat goodies such as UI changes, performance and battery life improvements, full-screen album art on the lock screen, and wireless printing support. We’re pretty sure all of you Note 10.1 users are excited to finally move up to KitKat, but make sure to have enough battery on your tablet first before installing the update.

And to all our advanced users out there, the N8000XXUDNE4 firmware is now available for download through SamMobile and Samsung-updates, and you can count on it that the Omega ROM for the Galaxy Note 10.1 will follow soon. Happy Flashing!
