A Korean publication ran by a former Samsung employee has reported that Samsung has held meetings to push the next Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphone release forward. They also claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be teased as early as January 2014, and will be announced next month – same date as the MWC expo.
This move if true is something that doesn’t surprise us as the sales of the Galaxy S4 has been dropping and we can only expect it to drop even more when the much anticipated Nexus 5 was released this month. And to fight that, Samsung has decided to shorten the life cycle to 9 months instead of the usual eleven or so.
Insiders claim that the Galaxy S5 will be equipped with a 64-bit true octa-core Exynos processor, 16 MP camera with optical image stabilization, fingerprint scanner, and the speculated Design 3.0 phase metallic chassis.
Note that this are all speculation until confirmed by Samsung themselves so don’t get excited or disappointed just yet.
What do you think of the possibility of a Samsung Galaxy S5 in February? or the rumored metallic chassis? Are you ready to upgrade your fairly new Galaxy S4 to this? Let us know in the comments below.
