OnePlus Partners With CyanogenMod To Produce OnePlus One Smartphone

We heard about if before, and now it’s official. OnePlus and CyanogenMod Inc will collaborate to bring the ‘best hardware’ and ‘best software’ on a smartphone that they’ll call the OnePlus One.

“What’s coming is one of the most popular mobile operating systems specifically developed for the best hardware, with a unique twist. The smartphone industry is ripe for disruption, and 2014 should prove to be a huge year for the future of the market.” says OnePlus CEO Pete Lau.

Cyanogen Inc CTO Steve Kondik also has high hopes for this project when he said – “Upon hearing Pete’s vision for OnePlus, it was clear we had found the right partner. By combining our software expertise with Pete’s background in hardware and design, we’ll develop a phone that will exceed both of our expectations.”

The OnePlus One is also said to have a special version of CyanogenMod that will contain special features and tweaks. The device is expected to debut in the first half of 2014 on select markets and will eventually roll out globally.
