Two of LG’s mid-ranger, the L9 II and G Pro Lite, will soon have a taste of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat treatment after being stuck with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean since their launch. According to LG Italy’s official Facebook page, the LG L9 II should start receiving the latest Android update in the coming weeks, while the G Pro Lite is slated at the end of Q2. But it could be that the L9 II users can get the update for as early as now as there are already reports that L9 II users from Slovakia are already getting the said update.
The Android 4.4.2 update will bring the usual and universal KitKat changes such as UI changes and stability patches. The L9 II and G Pro Lite will also get LG’s famous KnockCode feature, where you can wake your phone up by tapping on the screen depending on the tap code you applied. The KnockCode feature has been added to various LG devices updated to Android 4.4 kitKat such as the G Flex and the Optimus G.
