Huawei has officially launched their newest flagship device – the Ascend Mate 2, in China yesterday. The 6.1-inch phablet device carries a RMB 2688 price tag, which equates to about 445 in US dollars. We are still not certain as to when the device will start shipping globally but according to a leak in our previous report, it will start it’s global roll-out by the end of this month. If anything comes up, we’ll be sure to keep you updated, like we always do.
The Ascend Mate 2 boasts a 6.1-inch 720p screen, a 1.6GHz Hisilicon quad-core processor, which is an in-house product from Huawei, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 13 megapixel camera and a 5MP shooter at the front. It also packs a large 4050mAh battery. The device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box.
