After knowing that the new iPhone 5s will have 64-bit A7 CPU, Samsung’s CEO JK Shin announced that Samsung’s future flagship smartphones will have 64-bit processing functionality as well – “but not in the shortest time,” he added on his interview with the Korea Times. But it should be safe to guess that the next gen Galaxy S5 or Galaxy Note 4 will be the first two devices to implement this technology.

In the same interview, Shin acknowledged that Apple was seeking to expand its mobile reach further into China and Japan with the iPhone 5s and 5c, saying that Samsung should “try harder” as well in these countries. These efforts reportedly include a separate Chinese launch event for the upcoming Galaxy Note 3.

In my opinion great and expected news, so they will stay in touch with their competitors. I plan on buying S5, especially after reading this.

      Me too. 🙂 I think I will skip S4. 🙂

Not sure though if the 64 bit architecture is worth implementing on today’s or tomorrow’s versions of Android… It will need a hefty Android upgrade to support it.

In any case it looks like good news!
