Android 4.4 KitKat – More For TVs than Phones?

Google_TV

It has been a month full of rumors and leaks about the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 Kitkat that people are starting to grow tired and disappointed whenever they hear a new one that has been pretty much inaccurate up to now.
Well let’s add one more to that list but this one has a high probability of being true as it came out via ETNews.

According to ETNews, The Android 4.4 ‘KitKat’ update is emphasized more on connecting your device to your televisions. The publication cited sources familiar with the situation, who said that the update will improve the way TVs and Android-powered devices work together. The report didn’t offer any specifics, but it did mention an enhanced user interface.

Based on this, The Android 4.4 KitKat is shaping up to be a minor update with few overall changes to the platform that will most probably be focused around the improvement of UI than functionality. Still, Google could very well squeeze some added capabilities into KitKat that we just haven’t heard about yet.

There has been also a rumor with leaked screenshots a few weeks back that the update could feature the ability to mirror your Android screen to a television via the Miracast protocol. Add the other rumor that Google TV is set to be re-branded as Android TV, and Chromecast’s success, and this we migh have hit our first on-target rumor.
