Alcatel’s Idol X+ will pack MediaTek’s new octa-core SoC!

We mentioned MediaTek’s first true octa-core SoC and today we learn that Alcatel Idol X+ will be one of the first smartphones in the world to pack the aforementioned SoC.

In the following images we see a sneak-peak of the device which seems to be sleek and well designed, with a large 5-5.2 inch display, MT6592 chipset at 28nm, 8 cores @ 2GHz each (!), quad core GPU and 4K playback support!

Alcatel verified that they will cooperate with the chinese to make Idol X+ available in more countries around the world without however announcing its price. It looks like 2014 will be the year of octa core smartphones and tablets and -obviously- 64 bit Android smartphones. So much to see and so little time indeed!
